Bad Breath

Bacterial activities that can be a bad breath cause include the breaking down of dead epithelial cells (cells that line the inside of the mouth that are sloughed off and replaced frequently) blood cells food particles, and proteins and other molecules found in saliva. Bacteria are the janitors of our  mouths  but unfortunately  some of them create bad-smelling compounds that are causes of bad  breath, while they do their work.

Causes of bad breath include:

•    Poor oral hygiene or health, including tooth decay and/or gum disease.
•    An over growth of certain bacteria in the mouth and digestive system.
•    Smoking
•    Poor digestion
•    Illnesses such as tonsillitis                                                                                    Poor liver health.
•    Certain foods can cause bad breath such as garlic, onions, anchovies, and high protein diets.
•    Breathing through your mouth

Causes of halitosis:

Halitosis affects all people, at some point in their lives. However, halitosis only becomes a problem if it is for a prolonged period or if it is caused by other medical conditions. Transient bad breath is the term given to bad breath, which subsides after brushing one’s teeth or rinsing the mouth with mouthwash. In this case, bad breath may be caused due to consumption of foods like garlic, cheese, fish, etc. Bad breath also occurs when an individual’s mouth is dry due to fasting, stress, or sleeping overnight.

Another type of halitosis is chronic bad breath. This is when bad breath persists in spite of a person maintaining good oral hygiene. Such bad breath is considered a medical problem. Chronic bad breath is believed to affect thirty percent of all people.

Remedies for halitosis:

Fenugreek is the most popular and effective home remedy for bad breath.
Avocado is an excellent remedy for halitosis. Sometimes, due to indigestion, food remains in the intestine.

Tips to avoid Bad breath:

•    Maintain a high level of oral and dental hygiene. In addition to brushing, it is important to clean between the teeth using dental floss, woodsticks or an inter-dental brush as recommended by your dentist or pharmacist.
•    Use a tongue cleaner and clean right to the back of the tongue.
•    Drink plenty of fluids, avoiding too much coffee.
•    Clean your mouth after eating milk products, fish and meat.
•    Chew sugar-free gum, especially if your mouth feels dry.
•    Eat fresh, fibrous vegetables
•     Visit your dentist regularly and have your teeth professionally cleaned as required.

Treatment:

The  treatment  of  bad  breath  depends  on  its  cause   Regular dental checkups will help to detect problems that can lead to bad breath.

•    Promote oral hygiene and dental care. Children, like adults, should brush their teeth with fluoride toothpaste twice a day: after breakfast and before bedtime at night.
•    Children need an adult’s help in brushing their teeth until they are 8 years old.
•    Children should see a dentist by their first birthday.
•    Provide enough liquids to keep the mouth moist and well hydrated.

Home Cure for Bad Breath

You’re going to meet up with somebody and so you pull a breath mint out of your pocket or purse and stick it in your mouth to “freshen your breath”. So there, done, no more smelly breath. Oh, if only it was that simple. Your breath is going to be “fresher” for a little while at very least, until the breath mint fragrance is gone. All that you did is masked your breath. What you want are bad breath remedies.

The next time you’re in a pharmacy or supermarket check out all of the breath affiliated products. Breath products are part of a huge industry because they are used repeatedly to help briefly cover up your breath, not cure it. Mouth washes may remove a certain amount of odor causing germs if you can hold it in your mouth long enough. However, they usually consist of high levels of alcohol which will eventually worsen bad breath. Spray items are popular but they too, only disguise the problem.

Alright, breath mints do have a purpose in modern society even if you don’t have a breath issue yet desire temporary relief. When you and your friends depart from a cafe or restaurant right after savoring a great dinner seasoned with assorted spices or herbs such as garlic and onion everyone pops one of the free mints into their mouths to make sure you won’t blow each other away in the car. It works, it’s temporary, and it’s not a cure for bad breath.

Through my research I ran across evidence that about 90% of the time bad bacteria are the cause of bad breath. Also, there is evidence that a real cure in this 90% group had been discovered and journalized during the 1970′s. However, nothing was done with it until a few years ago when someone combined it with more latter research and developed a viable cure. It is a self-administered 4-step method that is effective almost immediately to provide amazingly fast and lasting relief from bad breath. And you might have the very simple low cost components used currently in your home. Click here for more information.
