Causes and Cure form Bad Breath – Halitosis
Around 50 – 60 % of our total population is suffering from Bad Breath or Halitosis – in medical terminology. In this article I am just enumerating the most common factors or causes for bad breath in general. It will be helpful for a reader to check that what is the prime factor for his or her bad odour.
Most common factors for bad breath :
Prime factor – 1st and fore most is that if you don’t brush your teeth twice a day with toothbrush and toothpaste , don’t use a floss regularly or even you don’t uses a mouthwash – What happens is food particles can not be removed from the top of the tongue , in between your tongue and gums , around the gums and in between your teeth. Small food particles will remain there and will decay in due time, smell will come from once mouth.
Food Habits – food that you may eat might be a cause too. If you eat garlic, radish , onion – they contribute to bad odour and once they are in your blood stream the odour will remain till the time they are exhaled through lungs.
Tobacco and Alcohol products – like cigarette, bidi , pan masala and hard drinks use to be a contributing factor also. As your family dentist about how to quit this habit of yours.
Medical conditions – several medical conditions like dry mouth or xerostomia, respiratory tract infections , diabetes , kidney and lung infections, tonsillitis , gastric disturbances can lead to bad breath.
CONSLUTION –
1. For management of halitosis maintaining of your oral hygiene is very important.
2. Regular dental check ups with your dentist is a must and scaling of teeth in every six months is recommended.
3. Brushing your teeth twice a day and use of inter dental brush or floss is recommended.
4. Regular usage of mouth wash is also recommended.
