Prevent Bad breath
Despite what people may think, or what people may want to think, bad breath is not only caused by bad dental hygiene. If that were the case, there would be a lot less people with bad breath, knowing that the only thing they had to do was do a little better on their personal dental hygiene. Instead, the majority of people who suffer from bad breath- it is due to tonsil stones.
What are tonsil stones? Exactly what they sound like they are—stones, or spots that have formed on your tonsils. The stones are typically whitish to yellowish in color and are most often on your tonsils, and you may also feel like you have something stuck in your throat. In extreme cases, they can also be seen on the back of your tongue, and in your throat. What causes them? Tonsil stones are caused by the build up of bacteria from remaining food particles after you eat, which is what is causing the bad breath all the time no matter what you try and do about it. The only way to get rid of the bad breath if you have tonsil stones is to treat the tonsil stones.
The good news is, is that there are ways to treat tonsil stones. If you go see a doctor, they will most like prescribe an antibiotic, tell you surgery is your only option, or laser removal. None of those sound like a great treatment for me due to the risk of side effects, and antibiotics will only work for the time being, which means you would have to keep taking antibiotics time after time when you have relapses of them, which you most likely will. However, I have found there are natural remedies for tonsil stones, that will get rid of them quicker than before most antibiotics have run their course, much less expensive than any of the three treatment options above, and you can get rid of them for good, which means you will no longer have to be embarrassed by your bad breath, and you no longer have to be self conscious about getting too close to people.
It is also a good idea to practice good oral hygiene, before, during and after your treatment to maintain your tonsil stone free tonsils, and to make sure you do not get bad breath due to poor dental hygiene. By making sure you brush your teeth and tongue at least twice a day and flossing twice a day, and also by using an alcohol free mouthwash or gargling with a warm salt water mixture will go a long way in preventing future tonsil stones and bad breath!
