There are many bad breath cures out there but most of it does not work or are only myths. Depending on the cause of your bad mouth breath, a different approach have to be made although most bad breath cause comes from the mouth. Major causes of bad breath are because of plaque, cavities or gum diseases.

Even though bad breath does not bring any major harm to your body, sufferers have to deal with lower self esteem (it’s hard to feel confident all the time when you are constantly worried about people taking a notice of your bad breath condition) and lower sexual activity (bad mouth breath are’t a sexy thing. People suffering from this tend to have fewer mates and less sex) too.

Whether you have suffered from bad breath for a few months or even years, you are still able to break free from this embarrassment. Here are a few tips that you can take as your bad breath cures:

Mouth Hygiene. Ensure that your mouth is always clean. Brush at least twice a day and at least for 2 minutes each session. Floss regularly too as there are often foods that are stuck between your teeth which can cause your breath to smell.
Tongue Hygiene. Brushing and flossing doesn’t always eliminate bad breath. This is because there are the odor causing bacteria which will hide deep inside the tongue. Cleaning your tongue with a tongue cleaner can eliminate these bacteria.
Water. Drinking plenty of water can help killing the anaerobic bacteria which produces the sulphur compounds that causes the odor. In addition to that, water will dilute the concentration of sulphur and cause the odor to be mild.
Chewing gum. Although chewing gums are not meant to cure bad breath, they are a good alternatives in covering up the breath temporarily. It is useful when you are on the go and don’t have enough time to clean up.
Foods. Apple, cucumber, celery, carrots are foods that can help to fight plague. The particles between the teeth can be removed with the foods and is also beneficial for your health.

Having bad breath should not be a concern of your social life. Although there are no quick bad breath cures, it is an achievable task and doesn’t require much determination to accomplish.

Most folks who have bad breath are not even aware that they do have such a condition till they get close to another person. Bad breath can be caused by a lot of factors: what you eat, a dry mouth, not brushing properly and other factors. It can also be a sign of an underlying medical disorder like sinusitis, diabetes, liver problem etc.

Gum disease or periodontal disease is an infection of the area that supports your teeth. Between the gums and the tooth lies a crevice known as sulcus. Gum diseases happen when the periodontal diseases attack in the sulcus, the area below the gum line. When the tissues are damaged, there is a gap in the sulcus area, which can increase with the severity of the disease.

There are two types of periodontal disease: gingivitis and periodontis. While gingivitis is a milder version of the gum disease, the more serious version ‘periodontis’ can cause offensive bad breath. We should know if we are really suffering from some kind of gum disease. To know if you have a gum disease, you should look out for the following signs:

Gums that bleed

Swollen gums

Persistent bad breath

Teeth that are separate or loose

If you are relying on mouthwashes or over the counter medication, they do not really help matters permanently. But there is a treatment that can make your bad breath history and eliminate bad breath and gum disease forever.

It can be an awkward situation because on one hand you do not want to be impolite, but neither do you want to smell the bad breath, either. Largely, it will be tough to keep a straight face and continue the conversation. It is just so accurate that, bad breath affects more people than some of us even recognize.
Our first instinct when we smell something bad, is to move away from it or at the least make a horrible smell face. This is a really tough position to deal with and many people want to just get away from the offensive odor as quickly as possible. Bad breath is never comfortable to deal with, no matter who you are dealing with. Well, at some point in our life we will have to face up someone that needs bad breath solutions.
Individualized Obligation
The bottom line is that every person needs to be in charge of their own oral care. Just taking solid care of your teeth and gums will diminish the chance of you suffering from bad breath. It is a familiar courtesy to make sure enough that others do not have to endure with a person’s laziness and lack of personal care. People who know that they have a problem with repulsive breath should recognise the fact and take care of the problem to the best of their ability. In the cases where bad breath is not caused by the individual, then one must look for the aid of a capable dental practitioner forthwith.
Informing Others
In most cases you might be better off saying something about the bad breath than just acting as if everything is okay. In some cases a person’s bad breath might be caused by a medical condition and some might not be cognizant of the stench or the medical condition. You just might save someone’s life by telling them they have bad breath and should see a doctor. It can be tough to tell an individual they have bad breath, but in most instances that might be the best manner to get the sufferer to take certain action.
If you are aware that a person always has bad breath you might try talking to them about visiting a physician. A quick fix is to offer them gum or a mint, just to be kind. Or a person can bring up the subject of bad breath and talk about its seriousness and then provide the mint or gum. This could help most people see they have a problem. Some people will call for a very direct statement telling them they have bad breath and need to do something about it. While this is never easy, it might just help push the unwilling bad breath sufferer to seek fast assistance.

I would advise you to follow my time tested techniques which will definitely help you to get rid of your killer breath.

a) Bubble Gum or Mint tablets:

These two are very effective when it comes to removing your bad breath. Mint tablets are very strong disinfectant and help you to freshen up your breath very easily. Bubble or chewing gums enhances your saliva secretion thereby the bacteria are easily drained down. So my advice to you is to keep them handy and readily available for you.

b) Develop a habit to brush your teeth regularly after meals:

One of the best tactics that has helped me to cure my breath. I have made it a habit and practice to brush my teeth regularly after every meal. I take a fair amount of time in cleaning my gums and tongue which are core sources of flood to get struck and then decay and result in terrible breath.

c) Drink a lot of water for natural cure for your bad breath:

Drinking water flushes out the bacteria or fungus from the mouth thereby enabling a cleaner mouth and fresher breath. It is also observed that drinking water helps to improve your digestive system which results in better stomach and cleaner breath.

d) Increase you Tea intake:

Tea preferably black tea will help in fighting bad odor. Black tea helps in reducing bad breath up to 40%. So my advice is that you prefer black tea over green tea which will prove to be more effective in curing bad breath.

e) Use Mouth Wash:

In the market, you will find mouth washes having alcohol base which is not at all advisable as it increases the bacteria which generates foul smell in your mouth. Try to get some mouth wash which is alcohol free.

I hope you find the above solutions helpful. For more details you can check my author resource box.

Causes and Cure form Bad Breath – Halitosis

Around 50 – 60 % of our total population is suffering from Bad Breath or Halitosis – in medical terminology. In this article I am just enumerating the most common factors or causes for bad breath in general. It will be helpful for a reader to check that what is the prime factor for his or her bad odour.

Most common factors for bad breath :

Prime factor – 1st and fore most is that if you don’t brush your teeth twice a day with toothbrush and toothpaste , don’t use a floss regularly or even you don’t uses a mouthwash – What happens is food particles can not be removed from the top of the tongue , in between your tongue and gums , around the gums and in between your teeth. Small food particles will remain there and will decay in due time, smell will come from once mouth.
Food Habits – food that you may eat might be a cause too. If you eat garlic, radish , onion – they contribute to bad odour and once they are in your blood stream the odour will remain till the time they are exhaled through lungs.
Tobacco and Alcohol products – like cigarette, bidi , pan masala and hard drinks use to be a contributing factor also. As your family dentist about how to quit this habit of yours.
Medical conditions – several medical conditions like dry mouth or xerostomia, respiratory tract infections , diabetes , kidney and lung infections, tonsillitis , gastric disturbances can lead to bad breath.

CONSLUTION –

1. For management of halitosis maintaining of your oral hygiene is very important.

2. Regular dental check ups with your dentist is a must and scaling of teeth in every six months is recommended.

3. Brushing your teeth twice a day and use of inter dental brush or floss is recommended.

4. Regular usage of mouth wash is also recommended.

Take a breadth management consultation from your dentist, he or she can be able to help you in identifying the cause and proper treatment plan to eliminate the problem.

Are you using mints a lot, or chewing gum? Has a bottle of mouthwash become your best friend? If so, these are all signs that your breath is not as fresh as it could be.

When you notice that you always seem to need to grab mints or chewing gum in order to mask your bad breath, then it might be the time to visit the nearest bad breath doctor.

Lots of people get halitosis for many different causes. A majority of halitosis incidents come from bad oral hygiene. If you keep forgetting to both brush and floss your teeth after every meal, little pieces of your food that get stuck between your teeth, gums and also on your tongue which will eventually begin to rot and bacteria will start growing. The bacteria will start to release sulfur compounds which give you halitosis.

What is a Bad Breath Doctor?

A bad breath doctor is a dentist who focuses on curing bad breath, and must be consulted when bad breath seems to continue, even though you have tried everything and there are no noticeable causes like bad diet habits, smoking, medications or bad oral hygiene.

Why get a bad breath doctor

So you may be wondering why one would need to consult a bad breath doctor, and not just regular a dentist. Most of the time smelly breath is only caused by two things; one is the existence of bacteria in your mouth, which result in an awful case of bad breath.

· Does your breath ever smell fishy?

· Do you smoke cigarettes?

· Does your breath smell like feces?

· Is there a specific smell to your breath?

· Is there a recent sore throat you have?

· Does your breath smell like you drank alcoholic beverages?

· Does your breath smell like ammonia or urine?

· Have you noticed if proper or increased oral hygiene improves the smell?

· Is the smell of your breath like fruit or sweet?

· Are vitamin supplements part of your daily routine?

· Do you have any tooth abscess, a sinus infection, or any other sickness?

· What home remedies did you try? How effective are they?

· Have you recently eaten any spicy foods, onions, cabbages or any other smelly foods?

Such kinds of bad odours basically include the smell of rotting eggs, the smell of ammonia in case of chronic kidney failure or the fruity smell related with diabetic ketoacidosis. Bad breath could be extremely embarrassing and can create social, emotional and psychological stress in an individual.

Causes of Bad breath

A major cause of Bad breath is the consumption of tobacco, unhealthy diet and chronic dry mouth. In a majority of cases, Bad breath originates in the mouth mainly owing to insufficient plaque control, periodontal disease, faulty restorations and excessive bacterial growth on the tongue.

Gingivitis is also a prominent cause of Bad breath. Bacteria that cause Gingivitis live in your plaque. This, will, ultimately result in the inflammation and bleeding of gums and their separation from teeth.

Bacteria generally consume food and excrete wastes in the form of sulfur compounds. The volatile sulfur compounds might lead to periodontal health and disease, which could subsequently cause Bad breath.

Another most probable cause of Bad breath is digestive disturbance caused by an unhealthy diet. Such an improper diet could lead to constipation. Overeating can also cause both flatulence and halitosis.

Individual foods, stress and anxiety and heavy metal poisoning could also be some of the factors that cause halitosis.

Few steps to treat Bad breath

Try to avoid inappropriate food combination such as citrus and complex carbohydrate, mixing fruits and vegetables etc.

Increase the intake of fiber foods and avoid excessive consumption of sugar, refined carbohydrates, milk and meat. These foods could aggravate oral diseases, digestive problems and constipation.

Brush and floss your teeth regularly.

Drink 6 – 8 glasses of water daily. This will help in increasing the production of saliva. However, ensure that you do not drink with meals so as to avoid enzyme dilution.

Consume a multi vitamins and minerals tablet regularly. This significantly helps in regulating the bowel movement as well as supplies the ingredients necessary for the production of digestive enzymes.

Be very scared. Everybody gets bad breath also known as Halitosis in medical term every often, irrespective of how good his/her oral hygiene is. Bacteria responsible for bad breath thrive in a dry and dark environment of the mouth such as; under the gums, the crevices of the tongue and the spaces between the teeth. Reason is these areas are poorly cleansed or ignored allowing bacteria to flourish and release smelly Volatile Sulphur Compounds [VSCs].

Bad breath is caused by foods that we take like coffee, because it causes it contains acids that decrease deoxgenation of the mouth; sugary foods, dairy products like milk because they are high in proteins and must be broken down by the bacteria hence releasing VSCs. Spicy foods like onions and garlic high in sulphur are absorbed in the blood stream, and expelled by the lungs always result in bad breath. Drugs like cold medication, anti-allergy and antidepressants cause Dry Mouth Syndrome [DMS] that decreases production of saliva leaving the mouth dry allowing room for bacteria to thrive. Alcohol is also another cause since it’s exhaled on ones breath and can result to bad breath.

Bad breath also caused by smoking which taints teeth and irritates gums. Other causes are gum diseases, infection of the respiratory system like bronchitis and sinusitis, gastrointestinal disorders, cancer of the mouth and others. To treat bad breath, thoroughly brush your teeth at least twice a day. Floss regularly to remove food particles trapped between the teeth at the gum line. Drink a lot of water during the day. Replace your tooth brush once every three months. Chew some gum after rich meals high in proteins or spices. Rinse you mouth regularly and eat food that help eliminate bad breath like carrots, celery and peanuts.

People worldwide have the problem of bad breath. This doesn’t really help when it’s you dealing with this problem. Does it help to know that you’re not the only one?

Bad breath (”halitosis” is the medical term) is most commonly caused by poor oral hygiene. Dry mouth is another common cause, this may be the case if you notice it first thing when you wake up.

You may find that you have a dry mouth when you wake up in the morning. Your mouth naturally dries out during the night. You’ll notice that you have a layer of a plaque on your teeth and tongue, left by the bacteria in your mouth that thrive in this dry environment.

You can help prevent this buildup if you brush your teeth and clean your tongue before going to bed. This will help to eliminate a lot of the food particles that these bacteria thrive on. You may also want to floss your teeth, always a good idea, and rinse out your mouth with mouthwash before you go to bed.

If you practice good, thorough, oral hygiene and you still have less than pleasing breath, then there may be other, less common reasons for your condition. Another possible reason is sinus problems. If you have a constant post-nasal drip, the mucus is a nutrient for those bacteria that live in your mouth. The more nutrients you provide the bacteria the more potential for bad breath odor, and plaque coating on your tongue. They also will reproduce and thrive in that area.

Your doctor or dentist can help you with post nasal drip problems.

The best way to reduce and eliminate halitosis is to keep your mouth free of the nutrients that the bacteria in your mouth thrive on. Especially at the back of the tongue, which means you may need to begin to practice brushing or otherwise cleaning the back of your tongue, using your toothbrush, or a tongue scraper.

Tongue scrapers can be purchased at any pharmacy. If you decide to use your toothbrush to clean your tongue, brush gently from back to front, and rinse your mouth out with either water or mouthwash. It’s important to use a mouthwash that does not contain alcohol, because alcohol promotes dryness in your mouth.

I’ve given you here two of the most common reasons for halitosis, and some simple solutions. There are many other potential causes for bad breath. You must investigate the causes and remedies for you to find relief. Finding the cause of your breath problem may take some trial and error. You may have to persist in testing a few different ways to get relief. Believe me it’s worth it.
