Yesterday, my throat started to hurt and I felt dehydrated, starting in the mid-late afternoon. last night I felt progressivley worse, with my throat feeling like I swalled sandpaper, and becoming stopped up. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling like a Panzer division decided to use me as the road, my throat feeling even worse, and not being able to breath.

Today, my throat feels better but I ache very badly and am blowing my nose what seems like every 30 seconds, sneezing, headache (like I am at the bottom of a deep end of pool kind of aching), staying thirsty, and a temperature of hovering between 96 and just under 98 degrees (according to my thermometer). I go from feeling cold, to feeling warm, to feeling normal. My room is typically quite warm, but I don’t feel as warm in my room as I usually do. I also feel a great deal of pressure in my ears. My chest feels achy, particuarlly towards the bottom of my ribcage.

I have not been coughing at all, that i can remember. As of now, I have not had much of a loss in appetite. I do not feel like I need to throw up nor do I have stomach pains as of now. I say this because sometimes what is NOT wrong with you can asssist in a diagnosis.

is it a bad cold, or a rather mild case of the flu? Typically I get a fever when I am sick rather than a low temp (but my thermometer could be malfunctioning, but I think its fine).

One thing I have read about cold vs. flu is that flu symptoms onset much faster, like for me, yet at the same time a flu has a fever typically and a cold doesn’t always have one. I have a “reverse fever” I guess, so which one would that most likely be?

I’d like to know which one I likely have, I am a college student and I do not want to stay sick for a long period of time. Luckily I have no friday classes and I have monday off so i have four days to get better.
