I’m obsessed and sickened by tonsil stones. Anyone else?
I’m 28 and just discovered what tonsil stones are. I have delt with the all my life, although they have never been a problem, just gross. Since the other day when I found out where they live. I can’t stop thinking about them and I have picked at my tonsils until they are raw. I know that if I don’t leave them alone, I can get them infected. My question is, does anyone else feel completely grossed out about them and wished you never found out what they were?

My
name is Lesli Paterson, and welcome to my blog. I created this blog to
help other people like me who are suffering with tonsil stones.
Never heard of them–gross description though!!
how do you pick at them, sounds gross.
No friggin clue what you are talking about. Never had any stones anywhere near my tonsils. This must be a problem shared by the poor, or something that happens down south after they finish off a box of mac and cheese. If you move to the educated north, not only will you find food that does not cause stones to form on your tonsils, you will also not find anyone who knows what tonsil stones are. Luckily. But umm, good luck with that.
Just looked it up. Glad I don’t have tonsils…
Yeah it’s really gross. Before I got my tonsils taken out, I had those. I used to clean them out with a q-tip. I couldn’t stand knowing that that stuff was back there. I never knew what it was called, but I figured that it was food. The thing that sucks is no matter what it will just keep coming back unless you have your tonsils removed. You may want to consider this. Check out this site.

hope this helps
Why don’t you go to the doctor and have them treated or removed? I don’t know anything about tonsil stones, but I do know that when my son was three years old and had his tonsils out the doctor told me there was so much inflamation that when he touched them to remove them they exploded. The doctor said the explosion looked like a mass of cottage cheese rolling out. Yuck! I would encourage you to seek medical care.
I have been where you are. I am 26 and just got my tonsils removed last year. That was the only thing that will permanently remove tonsil stones. I too, was obsessed with them. I picked at them constantly (which is not good) and I just could never get them all. Not to mention the smell. Eventhough, a tonsillectomy is better to get as a child, it’s ok to get it as an adult as long as you go to a good ENT doctor. Best of luck and you can email me with any questions.
