Puppy with bad breath?

I have a 5 month old Lab puppy. Ever since her “puppy breath” went away, her breath has been very strong. Like the food she eats but x1000.
Are there any treats I can give her to help combat her bad breath? Or should I think about changing dog foods? I’d rather not have to start a toothbrushing regiment for her since she HATES having her teeth even looked at!

Food like dog bones. Not the pig skin kind of bone, the one that is like the dog food, but hard. It’s a treat, but it cleans their teeth and breathe.

Greenies are good to give a pup or there is a product called DentaBone that works really well.
Dental health is very important even for dogs. Poor dental health can lead to other problems, heart, liver, kidney. Start brushing those teeth! Poor quality foods can cause bad breath. Our pets need quality pet food. Read the ingredients list and learn what the stuff on there is and what it does (or does not do) to/for our pets. A quick pet food 101. If the pet food contains corn/corn products or by products it is a poor quality food. Do not pay attention to advertising, they all say there food is great. Corn is a filler that can trigger skin problems. (allergies, skin problems, itching and excessive shedding) By products is anything from an animal not fit for human consumption, including cancerous tissue. Some time’s teeth brushing is necessary some dog’s need this to be done tho they don’t like it . But there are alot of brand’s of chew’s that can help but would be best to ask a Vet the best brand for this problem .
Change the dog
Just kidding, i had a similar problem, but it resolved on its own after a few days.So, wait for a couple of days, and if the problem stays, call the wet
She should get her teeth brushed even if she has bad breath or not and whether she likes it or not. It’d be like a 5 year old saying they don’t like having their teeth brushed..would you let that go unchecked?!?
I found that none of the solid dog treats, mints, dental chews reduce my dogs’ doggie breath… BUT Dental Fresh for Dogs added to their drinking water does. It neutralizes their breath (doresn’t make it minty like Listerine) but when you get licked by the dog afterward it’s like a plain wet towel hitting you..no smell.

I am 100% positive it is the food because mine are on top of the line food and before their breath was enough to need a gas mask, now I dont smell a thing. I use Innova Evo.
I have a terrier with the very same evil problem. I have had her teeth cleaned by the vet and that worked for a bit. I have used the Oxyfresh product in the water, but she didn’t want her water.
What I am using now is working miracles. C.E.T Oral Hygiene Rinse for dogs and cats. My vet gave it to me and it was about 15.00 a bottle. I just put some of this slimey stuff on my finger and lightly rub it in her gums and teeth and the rest disperses. Her breath use to wake me up it was so bad, but this truly is a godsend.

Maybe she is teething, and the food is still somewhere in her mouth.You can buy treats that clean their teeth for them….Try and see which one works for her..Good Luck.
Try Greenies they help my dogs breath,but do try to brush the teeth once a week at the least. My dog hates to have her mouth messed with too but she has no choice in the matter. I rather do something she don’t like rather than end up having her teeth go bad. They also have those chew bones that are mint flavored they come in many different sizes and they help with teething too. Pet Smart
I have found a few things that work…First, try to get her used to your brushing her teeth…brushing your dog’s teeth can actually extend their lives!!!! Also, try greenies..they are a bit expensive though. I also really like Burt’s Bee’s Peppermint Breath Drops for Man or Beast (around $6.oo for a 2oz bottle)Put a few drops in your dog’s water (or yours). I didn’t see it for sale anymore on the Burts Bee’s website, but found it on amazon.com.
Dentabone or you could go the beverly hills route and get doggy toothpaste and a special brush just for the pooch.
