Should I get my tonsils taken out?! Help!?
So here is my situation. I had mono back in November 2008, and was feeling almost back to 100% by mid-December. My tonsils, mainly the right one, were very swollen and so were my lymph nodes (which were the size of golf balls!) while I had mono. My lymph nodes went back to normal but my right tonsil has remained the same size and is very swollen still.
In January I got sick again and had a cough and sore throat, which went away after about 2 weeks. In February, I had the same thing happen again but was more severe this time and developed into pneumonia because I was coughing so hard. It went away about 2 weeks ago, and now my cough has come back with cold-like symotoms.
WHY DO I KEEP GETTING SICK? And why has my right tonsil STILL not gone down??? I can take a picture of it and post it but it is pretty greusome looking.
Should I go to a ear, nose and throat specalist? I want this to go away and stop haunting me!

my tonsols are too big for ym mouth but i didnt remove them ever, but ull be ok i didnt want tou ndergo the surgery lol
Yes, make an appointment with an ear/nose/throat Dr. He/She can get to the bottom of why your tonsil stays swollen. They can also advise you whether you need them removed.
I had that for since i was a baby and i had them out; but thing is you miss a lot of school/work which isn;t really fgood as it causes a lot of pauin..
But id honestly think aboiut having them removed as its a great investment.

I think if you go to a regular doctor, they will tell you what you should do about the tonsils. I had the same problem, but both were swollen. My doctor had them taken out. If you feel like your regular doctor does not give you a good enough answer, or that something should be done about them, go ahead and get a second opinion, either from a different doctor or a specialist.
ask your doctor, my tonsils are big too, and if they get infected 3 times in one year they have to be taken out
