i’ve never known someone who had bad breath coming from thier nose. It doesn’t really smell bad, but their is an odor. I heard it has to do with sinus infection. After one week of being with him, I now have a very sore throat and phlegm and been very tired that’s been goin on for 3 weeks. Do you think I got it from him? He says he doesn’t have any symptoms.

My boyfriend had a doc’s appt last week, routine check up. For the past few weeks, maybe a little over a month, he was complaining of a pain on his left side and trouble breathing.
I took him to my doctor and she said the trouble breathing was bc his tonsils were very much swollen and he was very much congested and when she touched his left side he didn’t complain of pain, so she said it was probably gas. She gave him antibiotics and said once his tonsils get better his breathing will be back to normal.
When he went to his doctor and he checked on the left side the physician said he felt his spleen slightly enlarged. He said he has to wait for the blood work to confirm but most likely a follow up sonogram of the spleen will be able to tell more.
Of course i read on line all the possible things that could be wrong, from an infection (which he had) to cancer (God forbid)…My question is how worried should we be? He’s young…25 in June…no major health issues in the past, just your common colds. He’s never even really had a fever. For those of you that have had an enlarged spleen…what was the prognosis? What happened after?
Another question I have…can the trouble breathing be related to the spleen issue?
