Is it dangerous to have a tonsil stone in your throat for a long period of time? For a few days I felt something in my throat on the left side. I thought it had something to do with that it started a few days after I had my upper left wisdom tooth extracted. (I’m still not convinced it’s not related.) I looked with a flashlight and saw a white spot on what I think is my left tonsil. When I went for a recheck with the oral surgeon to see how the tooth extraction site was healing, I showed it to him, he said it had nothing to do with the wisdom tooth and that it was a tonsil stone. He gave a syringe to irrigate my throat with, and said I probably had these before since I have sinus problems all my life, but never noticed. Anyway, the spot is still there, but it is not bothering me as much and I think it MIGHT be a little smaller. I am using a waterpik and am gargling often, but its still there. I have a bad gag reflex so I can’t try to get it any other way. Will it come out on its own?
