I’ve been sick for over a year!?
So here’s my story…
about 16 months ago I lost my virginity. I actually had a homosexual experience to start things off. I really freaked out about everything after developing tonsillitis about 2 days after this. There were no fluids involved anywhere with the “experience”. I had constant bouts with tonsillitis on and off for almost a year until I finally had my tonsils removed due to the development of sleep apnea and tonsil stones in July of this year. Since my first bout with tonsillitis, I’ve had a lymph node that has been noticeable in my neck. This has lasted from the first bout with tonsil issues, through my tonsil removal, etc. It’s not big (maybe 1/2 – 1 CM in diameter).
About 2 months ago I took a trip to Scandinavia. When I returned I was fairly ill. I was sore, had an itchy throat, watery eyes, overall unwellness. Oh, and I have a small amount of tonsil tissue that was left over from my tonsillectomy which has gotten enflamed again, and has not gone down since.
I still have my lymph node there, and with this last little bit of fun, I developed some red spots on my throat that didn’t hurt, just kind of itched. I went to the DR and he said it was most likely allergies (I’ve had them my whole life). Now, I’ve been feeling ill for about 2 months since I returned to the US. I’ve had some shortness of breath (very brief), mild headaches, and some general feelings of illness…tiredness, etc. I also have a place in my mouth that is now slightly raised. I’ve looked up a few things online and had thought of it being a saliva stone or something similar, but I’ve also discovered a ridge along the bottom of my mouth that seems to be firm and under the skin, almost like it’s a hardened saliva gland or something. I have been tested for HIV and other STD’s, and have come back negative for everything. I’m really starting to get worried it may be some for of cancer. I have an ENT appointment on the 20th. Can anyone give me some insight?
Also, I’m 24, fairly lazy lifestyle, but am not really overweight.
